Health
Health is an issue of special concern for AAK. In its rural interventions, AAK has realised that inadequate attention to health results either in a high expenditure or neglect. The latter is especially true for women and girls. AAK has sought to integrate health education along with own educational interventions, while also undertaking promotive health activities in the target area. Focus on good health practices, adequate nutrition and safe drinking water has gone a long way in reducing infant morbidity and mortality in our rural intervention areas but we realise that we need to continue making efforts in this direction.
