Outcomes achieved:

  • For the financial year 2012-13, the following livelihood generation work was proposed in 56 gram panchayats : 243 wells, 106 bandhi construction and repair, , 38 check dams, 987 bigha  ground leveling, 54 ponds construction & deepening and 4.5 km construction of drains. The estimated cost was Rs. 24.73 crores.

  • 62% of the proposed livelihood generation related work was completed in 56 gram panchayats. 109 wells, 39 bandhi , 17 check dams, 613 bigha  ground leveling, 33 ponds construction & deepening and 0.9 km construction of drains were completed.

  • Irrigation facilities were provided and  land reforms were done in 2613 bigha land which led to an increase in the agricultural land and productivity.

  • After the increase in livelihood of the beneficiary families, there has been an increase in the food security of beneficiary families, SC families in particular. Earlier, food was available for only 4-6 months  but now it is available  for 8-12 months.

  • Sufficient food is available for one year in case of 714 SC families.

  • There has been an increase in the awareness level amongst the community regarding the MNREGA  provisions and processes.  Now , 35-40% community is aware about it as compared to 10-15% in the past.

  • 1093 job-card holders submitted applications at various levels ( block level, panchayat level ) demanding work under MNREGA. Out of which 756 got the receipts of their applications and got employment as per their application.

  • As per the MNREGA baseline survey data, earlier 70% job cards were with gram pradhan, panchayat mitra and friends. Now , this percentage is about 10-15 %.

  • Earlier, MNREGA work plan was not made by the Gram Sabha. Presently, the work plan was made by active participation of the community in all the 56 panchayats.

  • There has been an increase in activeness of panchayat representatives and applications were given for open meetings of gram panchayats ( Matihara, Panjra, Usri Khamhariya etc.)

  • In 56 panchayats, volunteers and sangathan people have taken advocacy initiatives at various levels ( panchayat, block, tehsil ) regarding activeness of pachayats , demand of work and payment of wages. Help of MNREGA helpline numbers  were taken regarding payment of wages  and demand of social audit of panchayats. ( Mawai Khurd, Songarha, Bari, Usri Khamhariya, Matihara etc. )

  • Members of the MNREGA monitoring committee have started monitoring the MNREGA work in 56 panchayats and are also in touch with gram pradhans.

  • Gram Sabha work plan for the year 2012-13 have been made giving priority to water conservation and livelihood related work.

  • Process is under way in 5 panchayats ( Phuliyari, Kushiyara, Belahi etc ) for equal distribution of water .

  • The program is being implemented in 56 gram panchayats ( 51 in Hallia block and 5 in Lalganj block ). There are 17638 families in total including 11986 target families whose total population is 104788.

  • 1049 new job cards have been made in 56 gram panchayats and the total number of job cards has increased to 20392 out of which accounts have been opened in case of 19004 people

  • Migration has been reduced in comparison to the previous year. In the previous year 9961 people (2975 male and 6986 female ) from 6823 families migrated while in this year 8811 people ( 1945 male and 6866 female ) from 6240 families have migrated.
