Urban Homeless

June 12, 2009

AAK urban interventions are relatively recent and began with supporting urban homeless and unorganised workers in the city of Allahabad. AAK supports the cities homeless by not only making arrangements for shelter but to link them with vocational training and access to loans and credit to enable them to sell vegetables etc. and manage a livelihood. An emerging themes is to look at rights of the poor and focus on the migrants in the city.

Focal areas of the intervention include:

  • Home based Centre
  • Vocational training
  • Access to loans/facilities
  • Focussing children
