Community based rehabilitation of children has been AAK&#8217;s thrust over the past years. Programme includes awareness about disability issues in the community, capacity building of<span> <\/span>local community to support the Children with Disability (CWDs), formation of SHGs, <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\" lang=\"EN-GB\">mobilisation<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\"> of local Persons with Disability as village volunteer, supporting surgical interventions towards corrective treatment, physiotherapy and equipments. As in other <\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\" lang=\"EN-GB\">programmes<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\">, AAK continues to focus on facilitating the CWDs to access government services. Advocacy and pressure on the education department towards building access ramps in schools<span> <\/span>continues. <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"margin-left: 0.75in\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\">Focal areas of this intervention are community based rehabilitation,<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"font-size: 10pt;font-family: Verdana\">motivating community volunteer (viklang mitra), home based therapy and corrective surgery, Rights of people with disabilities, Procurements of aids and appliances, Inclusive education establishment of child preparatory<span> <\/span>centre<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>AAK works in 60 villages in the Hallia Block of Mirzapur district focussing on the rehabilitation of children with disabilities.
